| Episode 44 Vihara Lawu at Foot of Gunung Lawu |
| I dropped at Vihara (Chinese style temple)
Lawu on my way back from Pringgondani
in
mount Lawu on January 10, 2008. This
vihara
is located adjuscent to the place of
Bojoroyo
which I reported in Story 42 in this
page.
The Vihara surrounded by white walls is observed at left up corner of this photo. You may find a letters of "VIHARA LAWU" in this photo. This temple belongs to Tridharma group who supports Tao, Buddhism and Konfuchu. That is why a statue of King of Tao is positioned at center of building. Statues for the others are located at backside of the king's statue. These statues are beutiful, but it may not be the articles of art. This building faces toward south. Accoding to Mr. Go Yu Hok, my friend in Madiun, a rich man in Madiun bought this land, but the temple had not been constructed due to financial problems. Later, a rich man in Surakarta bought this land and he constructed this vihara. |

| After returning Madiun, I was surprised of
the results of photos, since most of
shots
were out of focus, even though I strongly
held my camera at shooting. This phenomena
is surely derived from insufficiency
of holding
camera, but I felt that the holly spirits
did not want to be shot. Every time I felt myself as a stranger in Chinese temples. As far as I have observed, mysterious energy in Chinese temple may be different from the one in Japan. Then, the mysterious power in Chinese may not communicated with me. (Jan 10 2008 upto here) I visited the same temple on January 13, 2008 on my way to Surakarta. Ofcourse I brought a tripod to fix my camera to minimize vibration. The above photos were taken on this day. Camera applied is Rikoh Caplio R7. It has very sharp lens to get sharp focus, but it has disadvantage about color and shaking. This camera is not for amatures but for semi professional. Before Rikoh I used to use Cannon Xys 300 and 700. These models are very convenient to take shots with vivid colors, but focus was not sharp. Click hereto see a map around here. |
