| I have never heard about remainders in Madiun
area. There are many famous remainders
at
adjacent area of Solo and Kediri. I
have
felt peculiar that there is no famous
remainders
in Madiun area. This morning, December 02, 2007, I came across a signboard showing a remainder of "Petirtaan Dewi Sri" on my cycling between Madiun and Magetan. "Petirtaan" means a "bathing place" which usually constructed in old cities in Java. According to a keeper, this remainder was construted in 10th century by unknown kingdom. But I feel that this petirataan was constructed during Majapahit era, since the construtruction material is a baked blick as well as Trowulan and its design. There should be remainder of building of palaces and other associated facilities on a hill at the northern direction from this petirtaan. It is rather difficult to find this place.
