<Wikipedia> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sidoarjo_mud_flow
The Sidoarjo mud flow or Lapindo mud, also informally abbreviated as Lusi, a contraction of Lumpur Sidoarjo (lumpur is the Indonesian word for mud), is a mud volcano in the subdistrict of Porong, Sidoarjo in East Java, Indonesia that has been ongoing since May 2006. Approximately 2,500 m3 (88,000 cubic feet) of mud ? equivalent to the contents of a dozen Olympic-size swimming pools ? are expelled per day. It is expected that the flow will continue for the next 30 years. As of November 2008, the Sidoarjo mud flow is contained by levees, but further breakouts are possible.

Sidoarjo is a name of kabupaten and the area is located on the rivermouth delta of Brantas River. They mainly live depending on production of rice crops and sugar kane in agricaloutal field and fish and prawn planting at beach and home industry of bags and others.
This Lapindo accident stole their lives from dwellers by covering mud over farmland, houses and all other structures and heaviy influences the economy of this area..

Site Visit on April-06-2010

About four years passed from the first visit. Since April 06, 2010, I have not expected to get a chance to visit this site.
View from the embankment gave me shock. Nothing appeared on the surface of mud. Everything is under the mud, including happiness and prosperity.
Point of photo is about 500 meters south from the point taken in 2006.
You can understand how the pond is large from panorama photo above!
Main volcano is seen at point where steam blow out.
