Episode 19 Tokyo Subway in Jakarta

PT. KAI Commuter Jabodetabek started to operate KRL Jabodetabek (Jabodetabek Electrified Rail) in September 2008.
Main lines are:
(1) Bogor - Jakarta Kota and Jatinegara
(2) Bekasi - Jakarta Kota and Kampong Bandan
(3) Rangkasbitung - Tanah Abang
(4) Tangerang - Duri
(5) Kampung Bandang - Tanjung Priok

Lines further than Bekasi, Bogor and Rangkasbitung have not been electrified.

The PT. KAI Commuter Jabodetabek changes operation route from time to time.
All the electric train coaches have been air conditions since June 2014.

There is a plan to extend a line to Soekarno-Hatta International Air port from Tangerang Line.

In Sudirman ekspres near Pondok Ranji Station at 6:40 morning.

This seems like a photo taken in Tokyo in summer time but in Jakarta.
Train fare for this express was (Rp8,000), then always like this. Other trains with a fare of Rp1500 are always full with passengers.

This train is bound for Manggarai.
Train runs at right hand side traffic though cars run at left side of road in Indonesia.
It is heard that the developer of Bistro and Bum Seeping Drama bought this train.

Mr. Tada Yusaku pointed out that this coach was model 6000 series of Tokyo Metropolitan Traffic Bureau that had run in Mita line with a gage of 1067mm, but not Keio Line.

These coaches are of age over 30 years. When they arrived at Jakarta, window glasses are very clean, but not now. Why?
I guess that Indonesian people does not habit to polish window glasses of coaches.

Every passenger shall keep a ticket

Penalty Rp5000 for economy class,Rp60,000for express

Passenger shall ask a receipt (ticket) to conductors of train.
(Because connector will put money to his pocket but not to company)

Drivers seat is not for passengers
(Many passengers get on locomotives to save train fare)
We can see may hawkers in public transportation system in Indonesia other than air plane.
I witnessed these hawkers on August 03, 2009 between Pondok Ranji - Tanah Abang、around 9:30 morning

Kebayoran Station
PT. KAI runs long distance trains in Bekasi and Serpong Lines pulled by diesel locomotives in parallel with these electric trains.
Since 2006, I used to use Serpong Line and stayed near Kebayoran station in the line during stay in Jakarta.

All of the third class coach have been air conditioned from  2014. Now we cannot see such this scene.
