Episode 7 Twin Lakes in West Sumatra |
I dropped at the Twin Lake (Danau Kembar
= Danau Diatas + Danau Dibawah) on
my way
back from Padang city for shopping
on March
16, 2003. The lake side is at altitude of about 1500 m AS. It was so cold for my self, since it was cloudy on the day The upper lake (Danau Diatas) is sure a crater lake and another lake seemed to be a dammed lake The local people said that depth of the upper lake was about 800 meters. It is still questionable for me. |

They called this place as a sight seeing spot.
But accommodation were too poor to call foreign
travellers. Access roads are often closed due to landsliding and rolling stones. Cows were taking rest at center of plane without annoyances by human being there. |
