Ah, Indonesia
Episode 37 Nyai Roro Kidul
I must start to talk about a happening in middle of 1990thB
@One of my Japanese friend, Mr. Momose who created his website named "Pasar Tokek" visited Jakarta to see the grave yard of Nyai Roro Kidul located in West Java Province. At this time I was dispatched to Jakarta and we managed to see each other after a few years of absence. Mr. Momose and myself lived adjacent area in Tokyo.

Next morning we left Jakarta for Pelabuhan Ratu (Queen's Port) together with another Japanese friend.

Nyai Roro Kidul was a member of royal family in West Java and was good at healing people with her mysterious power. Javanese has believed that she revenges to people who forfeits her. She was killed by threw into the sea from a cliff.

Her grave yard located on the high rock facing to Indian Ocean at a few kilometer west from the town of Pelabuhan Ratu.
It is rather strange to call the grave yard as a "grave", since no one witnessed her body on the surface of sea of sea shore. Then there is no body in the "grave". Nisan, tomb stone in Islamic way, was erected at the cemetery.

While we pray at the cemetery about her happiness in another world, a message reached to me from Nyai Roro Kidul.
The message said that,
When she was threw away to sea, her vagina was seriously injured and she was in condition of severe bleeding.. The direct cause of her death was drowning..

Mr. Momose reported you about the above happening in his web site

Time flies like an arrow. I often remembered Nyai Roro Kidul, though I was in Japan or Africa or Middle East countries. I feel that the relation with her became closer and closer..

During my long duty trip in 2006 for investigation of infrastructures around Tulungaggung city, I was led tot a small fish port facing Indian Ocean, Popoh. It was October 06, 2006.

There are few strange Quills on the top of hill above Popoh port. One of them was a cemetery of a rich man who established a cigarette factory in Tulungagung, Reco Pentung. He got a message during his meditation at the place.

@About a few tens of meter west from entrance of Cemetery, there was a small Quill. I found that the Quill was for Nyai Roro Kidul. latitude and longitude of the Quill were S8 15.753 E111 48.437.
I found 5 men and women were waiting for a keeper of the Quill. They were Muslims, since two ladies wore jilbab. According to Islamic rule, Muslims are prohibited to visit such Quill. On the other hand, Javanese likes to visit this kind of Quill to request to the God to perform their hopes, since Nyai Roro Kidul has been believed to have strong power to accomplish there request. Then,@a few hundred people visit the site on every Sunday.

I worshiped in front of entrance door of the Quill, so that Nyai Roro Kidul would tell me about the last of her life in this world that I had been eager to have a reply since 1990th. A message arrived at me.
She told me that,
Nyai Roro Kidul was a real woman who lived in 6th century. She was good at healing and cured many people.
She delivered a baby boy who was crown prince who would be a king of the area. Unfortunately, she was involved into troubles about the succeeding kingdom among royal families.
Her opposite party flamed up a rumor that Nyai Roro Kidul was a witch who disturb the peace of the country. Finally she was killed as described above.

On February 4, 2007, I could have a chance to visit a beach named Parang Tritis and Parang Kusumo beach at south east direction from Yogyakarta. Royal family visit this place for give worship on a certain day every year. Parang Tritis is one of the mysterious spots in Java and sightseeing spot. There are many small inn which are classified minus one star class. Latitude and longitude were S8 01.382 E110 19.897.

There was a straight road from the rocky park to the seal toward southern direction. Mr. Sarwanto, my old friend, explained me that this road was for Nyai Roro Kidul. When I greeted Nyai Roro Kidul on the road, I glanced a lady who wore green long dress in ancient mode across the road about 30 meters from myself. I told this fact to Mr. Sarwanto. He was astonished and replied me that Nyai Roro Kidul came to greet us. Nyai Roro Kidul rarely appeared in front of para-normals, people who has mysterious power, though they have high mysterious power.

After that unexpectedly I visited a place of Nyai Roro Kidul again with Mr. Sarwanto on May 25, 2007. The site locates along a main road between Pacitan and Wonogiri. The site was called as Gua Putri (Girl's Cave). The cave was at S8 08.843, E111 00.381.

@According to land owner of the cave, the cave was used for meditation of Javanese islanders.
When we left the cave, I worshipped to the spirits who protected the cave. An image appeared in my brain that a green dragon waved me with smile. Mr. Sarwanto told me that the green dragon was a staff Nyai Roro Kidul. Is it really?

Time passed half an year. I got a chance to visit Tulungagung for meeting with a project manger about rehabilitation of infrastructures on October 31, 2007. I managed to get a chance against to visit the Quill of Nyai Roro Kidul and succeeded in interview to Nyai Roro Kidul..

@In response to my question about the sickness of her right leg, Nyai Roro Kidul told me that she was worried with a disease. It might be Lepra or Tetanus.

I felt strange that why I had not reported about the Nyai Roro Kidul since that time. Mr, Sarwanto advised me that such information belongs to the private secret of her. It is really true!

I asked Nyai Roro Kidul about her address so that I may find the place on Google Earth, but her reply was only a smile.

There is a spot for ash dispersal service near to the Quill where Javanese has used over a thousand years. Scenery was quite beautiful as shown below.
